چکیده
A series of aminobenzoic acid crystals with stacking-induced emission properties has been achieved and the packing structures of the hydrogen-bonded acid dimers provided an explanation for the emission characteristics of the crystals.

The molecular complex lumiflavin-2-aminobenzoic acid monohydrate (C13H12N4O2.C7H7NO2.H2O) crystallizes from from aqueous solution as red triclinic prisms. The space group is P1 with cell dimensions a = 9.660 A, b = 14.866 A, c = 7.045 A, alpha = 95.44 degrees , beta = 95.86 degrees, and gamma = 105.66 degrees . The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by block-diagonal lea...
متن کامل1,3,7-Trimethyl-2,4-dioxo-1,2,3,4-tetrahydropteridine-6-carboxylic acid hemihydrate
In the title compound, C(10)H(10)N(4)O(4)·0.5H(2)O, the two rings of the pteridine system are nearly coplanar [dihedral angle = 4.25 (9)°]. The atoms of the carboxyl group are also coplanar with the pteridine unit [r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of the pteridine skeleton = 0.092 (2) Å]. In the crystal, the presence of the water molecule of crystallization (O atom site symmetry 2) leads to...
متن کاملNature of the stacking of nucleic acid bases in water: a Monte Carlo simulation.
The results of a Monte Carlo simulation of the hydration of uracil and thymine molecules, their stacked dimers and hydrogen-bonded base pairs are presented. Simulations have been performed in a cluster approximation. The semiempirical atom-atom potential functions have been used (cluster consisting of 200 water molecules). It has been shown that the stacking interactions of uracil and thymine m...
متن کاملConformational effects and level mixing in a doubly hydrogen-bonded 1 : 1 dimer of acetic acid and 3-fluorobenzoic acid
Vibronically resolved S1 ↔ S0 electronic spectra of a doubly hydrogen-bonded mixed dimer between acetic acid and 3-fluorobenzoic acid have been investigated by measuring laser-induced fluorescence excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra in a cold supersonic jet expansion. Two isomeric species of the dimer have been identified, and the measurements show that their vibronic spectral pattern...
متن کاملNuclear magnetic resonance study of the interactions of guanosine and cytidine in dimethyl sulfoxide.
Guanosine forms hydrogen-bonded dimers in DMSO. The equilibrium constant for dimer formation is 0.18 l./mol at 32”, and there is no evidence of higher order aggregates. The structure of the dimer is probably similar to the hydrogen bonding thought to occur in guanylic acid gels but it is not possible from our results to assign a unique hydrogen-bonding scheme. Cytidine and 1-methylguanosine sho...
